A New Chapter Begins

A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS...

“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert." (Isa. 43:18-19)

Whenever we start a new thing, we are no longer able to rely on our familiarity to something but rather on our faith in Someone. New beginnings are what they are...they are not old happenings, same routines, or former things. New chapters of life are new opportunities for growth that allows us to grow and mature as we break up any monotony or potential 'going through the motions'.

When we decisively trust in the Lord and His calling for us and "commit [our] way to the LORD", we know that "He shall bring it to pass" since "the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way." (Ps. 37:5,23). As the Apostle Paul said, "He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it" (1 Thess. 5:24).

May we decide ahead of time to look to the One who is the Head of Time and the Head of His Church. May we ask the Lord to work in us as David did when he prayed, "Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day" (Psalm 25:4-5).

For when our Lord and Shepherd is the One leading our lives, we do not need to be found wanting or lacking...For He knows just what we need to go and grow. As we forget the things that are behind and reach forward to what lies ahead, we can be confident that THE BEST IS ALWAYS YET TO COME!
