LIVING SPRINGS FELLOWSHIP

Our Sufficiency is From God

"And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." (2 Corinthians 3:4-6)

Just think...the earliest Christians did not possess a single personal Bible or have any educational resources, podcasts, classes, schools, or technological advancements. Instead of these things, they had full assurance of Christ's resurrection and were filled with the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. But the most important factor was that they truly SPENT TIME WITH JESUS. That's it...and this was more than enough to turn the world upside down!

God's sufficiency means the God-given ability to meet our every need. God has an ample amount of His heavenly supply to handle all things that we are dealing with on earth. He gave us all things "that pertain to life and godliness." Thus we are never alone or abandoned...ever!

No matter what goals or resolutions you might have going in to a new year, we must first consider what God has resolved to do for us. He prayed to the Father to give us "another Helper" that would not only change the world as we know it but would make all the difference in how every believer in every generation throughout time would live their lives unto God.

JESUS' RESOLUTION: "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you" (John 14:16-18).

Jesus resolved to LEAVE the disciples physically in order to come to LIVE in the disciples spiritually. This was to their advantage. The result of His prayer and the gift of His Spirit would be a transformation that would result in a transition where Christ went from living in front of them to living inside of them. This is the MYSTERY and MASTERY of the New Covenant.

This same power and life-giving Spirit is still very much available for all of God's children today! It is not about ACHIEVING anything but RECEIVING the anointing that comes from above and changes life here on earth below.

The Three KEY Transformations that made all the difference in these disciples:
  1. An AWARENESS of God’s Abiding Presence…in every place.
  2. A READINESS to Speak and Testify of Jesus…at any time.
  3. A DEPENDENCY on the Sufficient Power of the Spirit…for all things.

Does this describe you dear saint? When we understand this overflowing reality of the Holy Spirit, we can be free to truly LIVE and LOVE and FREE the living spring in every believer.

Paul the Apostle said, "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place" (2 Cor. 2:14). Christ in us is not only the hope of glory but the HELP in our story. It's all about what He does in and for us.

Our Responsibility is always singular in this life:  It is our "Response" to God's "Ability!"

We can practically live out this God-sufficiency by...
Acknowledging Him in all our ways and look to Him to meet our need.
Saturating in the Word daily and speaking of Jesus by the Spirit’s prompting.
Being confident for God to supply what our need and expect Him to act on our behalf.
