A Revision of Our Vision

“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light" ...“No one can serve two masters..."..."But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:22,24,33)

From the very beginning, God wanted us to see His creation and perceive the purpose behind the creation. Therefore, God said, "Let there be light", and there was a light (Gen. 1:3). It is with our gaze where our worship begins. What we are fixed and focused on will determine what we choose to give worth to and worship. This is why Jesus teaches His disciples about making sure they have a good eye, or a singular vision on Him and His righteous kingdom. When this is right, everything else falls into place.

Jesus deserves the highest place in our life. He is our FIRST MINISTRY! Everything in our lives is rightly aligned when our eye is first on Him and our aim is to please Him in all that we do. He is the priority in all of our priorities. Too often, people try to make God a priority among others on their list. They might even make Him the top priority on the list. But Jesus cannot be a number on your list because He IS your whole list. He should be the priority within all the priorities that are listed in your life.

Joshua reminded the people, after their victorious conquests in the promised land and the tribes of Israel began to possess their possession, with these important words "choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve" (Josh. 24:15).

We need to not be looking the wrong way, or serving the wrong thing, but rather have a clear vision on the God who clearly sees you. If He sees you, then you do not need to worry. You do not need to be anxious about anything, but to bring everything to God in prayer.

It is not what you are going THROUGH that matters, but WHO you are going TO.

THE THREE WAYS OF DEALING WITH ANXIETY:

1. RELEASING your cares in PRAYER

2. RECEIVING His comfort by the WORD

3. REVISING your vision on your HOPE

We need to release things to God in prayer and not hold on too tightly to the burdens that fall on us in this life. We need to receive the living word of God to replace our doubts, disappointments, and discouragement and not reject what God is saying to us. Finally, we need to lift our eyes to the heavens and see things the way God sees them and look forward to what God will do to take care of you. This is a REVISION to our vision.

We are in the best of hands with a God who has the best of plans and we will live the best of life IF it is spent on seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and we are living to worship Him for His glory alone.

Therefore, don't focus on whether good is happening TO you but rather be open to the good that God can accomplish THROUGH you.

HEART WORK

- How are you seeing things right now? Are you being loyal to God and serving Him ONLY?

- What readjustments is God still making in your heart that you know of? Are you cooperating or resisting God?

- Finally, what evidence is showing you and others that you are seeking FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness...and what evidence are you seeing that everything else is being added unto you?
